Odessa Theatre of Musical Comedy named after Mikhail Vodyanoy has been one of the vivid cultural centers of Odessa for more than 50 years. Its fame spread far beyond our city long ago. Our troupe has no equal among other theatres of musical comedy and operetta. We develop traditions of the pioneers in the genre as well as artistic ideas and acting school. Such a phenomenon of art requires special attention and support in the context of tough social and economic situation in Ukraine. Unfortunately, it is impossible to provide modern sound and lighting equipment and to ensure productive work of the staff, accident-free functioning of the facilities given theater’s funding.
Operetta-Odessa Charity Fund aims at joining intellectual, financial and technical efforts to realize completely the creative potential of our theater.
In 2013 Operetta-Odessa charity fund launched drama school named “Teatralnaya prodlenka” (after-school theatre-club) for children aged 5-15. The aim of this project is to teach children singing, acting, choreography, public speaking and self-control. Professional artists from Odessa Theatre of Musical Comedy named after Mikhail Vodyanoy share their experience and knowledge with the rising gifted generation.
We appeal to you to take an active part in the undertakings of our charity fund.
