The Canterville Ghost
musical in 2 acts based on Oscar Wilde’s short story
Libretto by D. Roubin
The play tells the tragic
and mysterious story of Sir Simon’s ghost. The action takes place in the castle
with centuries old family curse, but Americans, who bought it, consider it just
a fairytale. However, winsome, explosive and energetic ghost will
prove the opposite… The
stage set will bring you to antique ancestral castle with its romanticism and
ghosts. And for more
pragmatic spectators there is a detective plot, hidden in poetic message:
When a gentle girl can win a prayer from out the lips of sin
When a child gives up tears and the baron almond bears
When the silent chapel bell sounds the ghostly sinners knell
Then shall all the house be still, and peace shall come to Canterville.
