musical in 2 acts based on Yevgeniy Shvarts’ play

Libretto by Y. Kim

One day a Wizard turned a Bear into a young man, but it was so difficult for him to be a human being that the Wizard decided to remove the spell. However, there was one condition: the Bear had to be kissed by the Princess. And the Wizard arranges so that the King with his daughter goes by his estate. The Bear happens to meet a wonderful girl and falls in love with her. When he finally finds out that she is a Princess, filled with terror he flees from her. He can’t even imagine that he will turn into a beast before the very eyes of his beloved.

This is one of the most poetic and sensitive love stories written as a fairytale. This play has everything: stirring music by Gennadiy Gladkov, astounding decorations, and all fairytale’s features such as magic, a princess, and a spellbound young man. However, The Princess’ love and kiss will not turn him into a charming prince but will bring him back his original look of a bear. And this is the very thing the loving couple doesn’t want at all. So, this is the beginning of sufferings andtwists and turns the Princess and the Bear have to overcome. And we are going to find out whether there is a miracle greater than love in this world.
